Inclusion and corrections

What belongs in HEX and how to flag a mistake.

Horror first

HEX focuses on feature-length horror and films with a substantial horror connection, including horror comedy, gothic fantasy and horror-adjacent films for younger audiences. A frightening scene or poster alone is not enough.

Films are chosen for the work itself: horror relevance, quality, significance or discovery value. The catalogue is global. A creator’s identity is neither a qualification nor a reason for exclusion. Inclusion is not an endorsement of everything depicted.

Classifications and release information

HEX descriptors describe horror mode, threat, situation, setting, tone and atmosphere, intensity and other characteristics. They support discovery but remain open to correction. Release dates can differ by territory and release type; announced dates can change.

Report a correction

Include the title and year, HEX page link, incorrect detail and a supporting source. Report mismatched trailers, credits, descriptors, franchise membership and release dates as well as missing films. HEX reviews problems with what it displays. You can also suggest corrections to source records through TMDB; source changes may not appear immediately.
